Back from tour (belated)
Sorry for the delay. I’m finally getting around to blogging the tour. My day meeting up for the tour I was picked up from the Airport by Amy’s dad. Luke and Amy were stuck in Traffic somewhere in DC. We made our way out to Richmond, VA for a show at the Camel.
That night we stayed at Amy’s friend Becky’s place. It was a little tight with the combination of Amy, myself and the Miles Apart folks, but was very comfortable anyway. This was my first time meeting most of Luke’s band Miles Apart. Cool bunch of folks who I’ll probably talk about quite a bit in here. The next day Amy’s father hosted a BBQ for us and we were fed well. Later that night we played Amy’s hometown of Woodbridge, VA called “the Oasis”. Strangely “The Oasis” in Woodbridge shared more than just a name with Austni’s Oasis. Their Logo has the same font and I think they even had the same design on their plastic cups.
While it did have a nice deck in the back, it did not share the same beutiful view as the Oasis here in Austin. Since this was Amy’s homecoming there were a ton of people there and we got a really great reception there. It think almost all of Amy’s CDs got sold that evening. That night and the following one we stayed over at Amy’s Mother’s house. She was great putting up wtih the whole crew there as well and we got to spend some quality time with Amy’s mom (and her dog). It was tons of fun. After our day off we headed out to Mile’s Apart’s adopted hometown and venue The Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC
This place had a great sound system and another really awesome crowd. This was also the first night I got to see Miles Apart in full form when their drummer Jason was able to join up. So, let’s see. I had a great time on the road got to meet a lot of really nice people and got to play some of our best shows yet. I only wish I could’ve been along for the whole thing. I would like to thank everyone who put us up and who fed us. Thanks to Miles Apart for playing with us and just being awesome. I hope I get to hang out with them again sometime soon. Here are a few more random pics from the journey, including my seat in Luke’s car (I promise, it was still better than my plane seat).
